Liverpool Transfer News: Andy Carroll Foolish to Spurn Newcastle Return
Andy Carroll should thank his lucky stars that somebody out there still wants him. He may be comfortable with Liverpool, but a move back to Newcastle is what would benefit all parties.
The Daily Mail reports Newcastle United has emerged as a potential buyer for the Liverpool striker who went stale the minute he stepped foot at Anfield.
It is all about, as it always is, the money. Carroll would no doubt take a huge cut from his £90,000-a-week wages at Anfield. However, he will only serve to irritate supporters as he claims a huge check and delivers nothing on the pitch.

Despite returning to the side that made him a star, Carroll states that he is quite happy at Liverpool and would rather stay, per the report.
Carroll has become lost amidst the rise of Luis Suarez in attack and has delivered but a paltry amount of production on offense. This was supposed to be the Liverpool answer to Fernando Torres, another player who is struggling at the moment.
If you want to know how bad a hit his image has taken with clubs, consider that Newcastle United is only offering £10 million. Yes, that would be £25 million less than Liverpool paid for the forward just 12 months ago.
The endgame for Alan Pardew and United is simple, as they are missing striker Demba Ba as he leaves to the Africa Cup of Nations.
There is also the hope that they get back a young star who once invigorated supporters with his fine play. For Carroll, the hope would be that he captures that form that left him at some point in his epic transition.
The fact is, Carroll will not figure things out with Liverpool. It is hard to take that kind of hit, but selling off Carroll is the only option for Liverpool, who have been waiting a year for the forward to figure things out.
Sure, he would take a cut, but when your form drops considerably, you will hardly find a supporter to cry for you.
Newcastle waits with open arms, and that is the most Carroll can ask for at this point in his career.
