NFL Divisional Predictions 2012: Winners That Will Step Closer to Super Bowl

Gabe ZaldivarJan 11, 2012

Broncos win and Packers cruise, these are just a couple of the bold predictions you can expect just days before what is sure to be an exciting weekend of playoff football.

Let's just say that a couple of these predictions would have made us nauseous a few weeks ago. Things change and the next team to succumb to the divinely destined Broncos are the Patriots, but we are getting ahead of ourselves.

There is a full slate of games that will give us ample opportunity to cheer or shout, both will no doubt be done amidst the smell of stale beer.

Here are the four playoff games that will have some of you feeling like Yao Ming with a panda and the rest like your best puppy just died.

Saints at 49ers

This is a hard pick when you consider how good the 49ers are at every facet of the game. They run with abandon and defend better than just about every team.

This team does the little things right, but there is a catch. The Saints have been playing out of their minds for a few weeks now. They just took on the best pass rush in the league and torched them. Saints win a close one.

Broncos at Patriots

There is nothing scientific nor well thought out about my pick against the Patriots. I have picked against the Broncos for weeks now and I am done being wrong. The Patriots should win this one, but we all know better.

My brain hurts but I am frustrated with the incessant wins coming out of nowhere for Team Tebow. New England is going down.

Texans at Ravens

The key here is stopping the run. The Ravens should be able to do just that and take one of the biggest weapons off the field for the Texans. The Ravens win an ugly defensive exchange.

NY Giants at Packers

Eli Manning has been huge this year. The Giants are too inconsistent on defense and playing at Lambeau doesn't help.

Aaron Rodgers will once again lead a versatile attack for a quick pace in scoring. This will be a shootout, but Rodgers tends to win those types of battles.
