With Rex Ryan, Tony Sparano, Could Jets Have Too Many Cooks in Kitchen?
The New York Jets have hired recently-fired Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano as their offensive coordinator. While Sparano did a good job turning around the Dolphins early on in his tenure, the task of fixing the Jets' dysfunctional, under-performing offense will be a monumental undertaking.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan obviously has a very strong, authoritative personality, and his vocal nature rubs some the wrong way publicly. Sparano is a different animal; he's quiet publicly but has the reputation of being a hard-nosed coach behind closed doors.
Having two guys with head-coaching experience on the staff may or may not be a problem. As long as Ryan and Sparano make sure they are on the same page from the get go, there shouldn't be any issues.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It is likely that Ryan will essentially just turn the offense over to Sparano, while the head guy focuses solely on fixing the defense. If that is the situation, and Ryan doesn't meddle in Sparano's plans and system except to give general suggestions, the two should be able to coexist.
Sparano has limited experience calling plays, and has never done a good job developing quarterbacks, but he is a disciplinarian who won't take kindly to the kind of locker room strife that characterized the team in 2011.
The former Dolphins coach has always pushed a power-running game and solid pass protection. His first job will almost certainly be to fix quarterback Mark Sanchez, who was wildly inconsistent this season.
If Sparano can figure out a way to get Sanchez straightened out, Ryan will be so thrilled that he won't care how much power his offensive coordinator gets.
