NFL Draft 2012: 5 Prospects You Must Watch at the 2012 Senior Bowl

Chris TrapassoJun 5, 2018

The 2012 Senior Bowl is absolutely loaded with top-flight NFL prospects.

While first-round talent like Melvin Ingram, Devon Still and Kendall Wright will rightfully draw a significant attention from head coaches, scouts and general managers, these are the five other prospects you must watch at this year's showcase on January 28th.

Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State

Kellen Moore had one of the best careers of any quarterback in Division I history. He holds the all-time record for most wins by a NCAA signal-caller (50). He tossed 142 touchdowns to only 28 interceptions during his time with the Broncos.

However, he's only 6'1'' and weighs in at about 190 pounds.

His arm strength isn't phenomenal and there's questions about his mobility.

How will he play against top competition? This is the Boise State legend's first chance to prove doubters wrong.

Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin

At 5'11'' and 200 pounds, Wilson is another highly-productive quarterback with size concerns. He threw 109 touchdowns with 30 interceptions during three years with the NC State Wolfpack and one with the Wisconsin Badgers.

Like Moore, he's an extremely heady guy under center.

Wilson has a strong arm and can really drive the ball down the field. As a top baseball prospect, he is mobile and can make plays outside of the pocket with his feet. He accumulated over 1,400 rushing yards and had 23 ground scores in his career.

Nick Foles, QB, Arizona

At 6'5'' and 240 pounds with a live and accurate arm Foles is the most NFL-ready quarterback of the group.

Like many signal-callers entering the pro ranks, the former Wildcats signal-caller will need to improve on working through his progressions and not locking onto his primary target.

Without Matt Barkley or Landry Jones in this year's class, with a strong pre-draft showing, Foles could sneak into the first round.

DeVier Posey, WR, Ohio State

Posey was suspended the first 10 games for the Buckeyes' 2011 season. In his three appearances, he caught 12 passes for 162 yards with two touchdowns.

At 6'2'', 210 pounds with good speed, Posey is an intriguing prospect. He caught a total of 15 touchdowns in 2009 and 2010 and reeled in over 800 receiving yards.

He should be a mid-round selection that certainly has a place in the NFL.

Doug Martin, RB, Boise State

The running back from Stockton, California pieced together a fine career with the Broncos. He averaged 5.7 yards per rush over the last three seasons and scored 43 rushing touchdowns over that span.

At 5'9'' and 215 pounds, Martin runs hard and doesn't shy away from defenders. Though not the most shifty or agile back in the 2012 class, he has deceptive acceleration and can make guys miss in the open field.

He projects as a three-down back at the next level and has the potential to be a steal in the mid-rounds.
