Real Madrid Transfer Rumours: A Move for Liverpool's Luis Suarez Is Unnecessary
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer Liverpool £30 million for striker Luis Suarez, which is an unnecessary move by the Spanish club that won't even help them that much.
While this move would help Liverpool in the short term and allow them to have a ton of funds to purchase another world-class forward this month, giving up on Suarez after about a year is the wrong move.
Even though Suarez is currently serving his eight-match ban handed down by the FA for racially abusing Manchester United left back Patrice Evra back in October, the Uruguayan star still has a significant role to play at Anfield this season.

Besides, Suarez is not what Los Blancos need in this transfer window.
Madrid already has enough attacking talent; what they need is stronger defensive players. If they have £30 million to spend in this month's transfer window, they would be better served buying a defender such as Maicon from Inter Milan, who would cost significantly less than Suarez and would have a larger impact this season.
Madrid don't need goal scorers to beat Barcelona; they need players who are more talented defensively. As good as Marcelo is as an attacking player, his defensive abilities against world-class forwards are poor. Someone like Maicon would be an upgrade over Marcelo.
Another reason Madrid don't need Suarez is because there is no place to put him in the starting XI. Why pay £30 million for a striker who won't even start matches on a consistent basis?
French striker Karim Benzema and Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain are both better players than Suarez, and cutting into their playing time by putting Suarez on the pitch would be a foolish move by Mourinho.
Suarez seems quite comfortable at Liverpool, and the fans have really enjoyed his play since arriving last January.
Liverpool don't need to sell their best striker when the club is capable of playing well while his ban is being served.
Since Liverpool selling Suarez and Real Madrid buying him are both foolish for their own reasons, there is no way this transfer happens, which is best for everyone involved.
