WWE Monday Night RAW: R-Truth's Return Will Push The Miz in the Right Direction

Giulio RomanoJan 10, 2012

Just a few months ago, R-Truth and former WWE Champion, The Miz joined forces in hopes of unveiling a conspiracy meant to hold them back from getting what they deserved.

They assaulted other Superstars, attacked referees and even managed to beat up the COO of the company, Triple H, at Night of Champions. Though, they were suspended for their actions, nothing really stopped them until the day they messed with your fellow, neighborhood SuperCena and his ultimate nemesis—The Rock.

What could have been a great story quickly turned into a fiasco as neither The Miz nor R-Truth were ever made to look like viable threats during their Survivor Series match, and so, were utterly defeated.

The next night on RAW, Awesome Truth came to an end after a scuffle and a Skull-Crushing Finale to a freshly-suspended Ron Killings.

It was a beautiful day. The stars seemed to shine once more for The Miz as he quickly returned to the WWE championship scene against CM Punk at TLC.

He had regained his independence, changed his attitude and put in the main event again. Not a bad way to end the year. Unfortunately, it didn't stick.

R-Truth eventually returned and instead of finding a more vicious, devilish Miz, he found the same guy who failed against Daniel Bryan and Alex Riley in the past—the cowardly heel.

Enter the sigh now...

One must wonder what's the problem with having very dangerous, plotting heels who do not stand for anything less than the best. Kane, for example, looks very powerful in his new gimmick, but it's not as believable as people say if he would just shut the hell up.

The Miz attempts to be this "bad ass" guy and could very well pull it off if he was given the chance. All he would need is a new haircut and a trademark weapon a la sledgehammer and poof! A new gimmick.

Alright, that's not the case. The reason for all that could very well be because he's going to become a face down the road and going total Terminator would simply not be appropriate.

Who honestly is convinced that R-Truth returned as a fan favorite? I'm not. He bullied Ricardo Rodriguez on RAW, and the fans keep chanting "What!!?" every time he opens his mouth. Not a bad idea to keep him as a villain right now. He plays a good one.

This could be great for the Awesome One, who has been stuck in Limbo for a few weeks. If 2012 is the year for him then winning the Rumble would definitely be amongst his accomplishments right? It's only a little while away and having a good match with R-Truth and coming out as the winner of the 30-Superstar battle royal on the same night is a step in the right direction.

From there, take them inside the Elimination Chamber and have them destroy each other. A major plus for this viewer and thousands of others.

Truth is a good performer, very athletic and in amazing shape at 39. The Miz would have everything to gain with finishing off this feud with a bang. Here's hoping there are no more acts of cowardice, and he confronts his former partner soon.

When it's all said and done, both could become heroes. One thing that should happen this year though is for one or the other to change shows. The Miz needs to be in a place where he can shine without people like John Cena around.

He needs to be tough and fight people who are tough like The Truth to get us all on his side. Not for anything, I have him penciled in to fight Mick Foley in an Anything Goes, Falls Count Anywhere match at WrestleMania XXVIII. The hand shake at the end of that program would turn Miz into a good guy, and he can begin his new persona on SmackDown where we desperately need fresh faces.

So what do we have for the chick magnet in the coming weeks:

- A feud with R-Truth

- Coming out on top

- Winning the Royal Rumble

- Getting screwed out of that prize eventually

- The Elimination Chamber match

- A huge match at WrestleMania 28

- Turning face

- Changing brands

and finally at SummerSlam most probably...

- Regain the WWE championship or winning his first Wold Heavyweight championship.

The Miz

When he was 31, in 2012, it was a very good year.
