Chris Jericho: 8 Possible Storylines After His Return to WWE
Two weeks, no words and a bunch of questions left unanswered.
We are all excited about the idea of Chris Jericho making his return to the WWE and Raw, but what is his role? What purpose will he serve and who will step up and challenge him, or who will he mark as his new "enemy"?
And will he be a fan favorite or a lead heel?
The first appearance by Jericho on Jan. 2 was, well, unique. Fifteen minutes of no speech and a lot of cheers.
The second, well, not so stellar. There needs to be more—more to keep my interest and the interest of the fans.
These are some possible angles that Jericho could be involved in.
8. He Becomes Mr. Silent Guy
1 of 8At some point, we hope he will talk. But right now, he is a face with no words.
On Monday, he cried for five minutes and left the ring.
What happens next week?
7. Meet the Miz
2 of 8I also love this possible angle.
Miz and Jericho trying to out-talk each other is like Roddy Piper and Ric Flair in the 1970s in Charlotte competing for air time.
And both have a style that would be conducive to a feud that could keep us happy for months.
Jericho also helps Miz get over since he is not in the title picture right now and R-Truth cannot provide the same kind of stroke.
6. Daniel Bryan on the Horizon?
3 of 8The "Walls of Jericho" taking on the "Labell Lock"?
Makes for great theater.
Bryan actually presents a nice challenge for Jericho. It may not be the sexy pick, but Jericho helps get Bryan over and this gives Bryan more credibility.
5. A Tag Team Partner for Christian
4 of 8These two would own the tag team division.
Presuming there is a shake-up in the WWE roster for both Raw and SmackDown, this could work. And it would help further establish a tag team division within the WWE.
It also may lead to a future feud.
4. Brock Lesnar
5 of 8I say this happens before the end of the summer.
Lesnar isn't going back to MMA and UFC. Jericho was critical of Lesnar's performance in his last UFC battle.
They are polar opposites, but it would be great to see size and strength against speed and agility.
3. CM Punk for the WWE Title
6 of 8Somewhere down the line, this works. But right now it is Dolph Ziggler's time to shine.
Punk and Jericho fighting for mic time and becoming the new Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho feud.
It would be awesome!
2. A Date with Mick Foley
7 of 8It may sound odd, but in Jericho's book Undisputed, it talks about how Mick Foley, a good friend of Jericho's, has never beaten him in a match.
Two legends in the WWE meeting at WrestleMania 28? I'll start this rumor and own it.
When someone talks about it so much in his autobiography, there is something to the fact that it may happen. Foley ruffled enough feathers in his best sellers, so I can see this happening.
1. The Unknown
8 of 8Jericho's position right now is just that—a position.
While wrestlers are fighting through injuries (Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio), Jericho is waiting for his match.
I would love to see him face Christian with Christian turning back to a face.
I would also love to see him face CM Punk, which I am sure is on the WWE radar.
