2012 NFL Draft Order: St. Louis Rams Should Take Justin Blackmon
ESPN's Adam Schefter was simply answering a Twitter question from a curious St. Louis Rams fan, but his answer confirmed what most have already expected—once the Rams find themselves a head coach and GM, Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon will be heavily targeted at either No. 2 overall or a couple spots down (if the Rams decide to trade out of that pick).
Here is the tweet from Schefter earlier this morning:
But with all the holes that come with a 2-14 football team, should the Rams use their top pick on a receiver like Blackmon?
I don't see a reason why not.
Blackmon is the consensus No. 1 receiver in the 2012 draft, and the Rams desperately need weapons for quarterback Sam Bradford.
While a number of factors played into the Rams' 2-14 season, you could argue that Bradford took a step back in 2011 in part because he lacked any elite receiving targets.
Adding Blackmon, whom many see as a Terrell Owens clone without the emotional baggage, would help solve that problem.
