NFL Playoff Predictions: Tim Tebow Not the Only Reason Patriots Are Doomed

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

The New England Patriots are marching into a humiliating disaster, and Tim Tebow is only part of their problems.

We are all witnesses to an amazing story unfolding. It's a fairy tale that began in Denver and will continue its silly plot at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

If you want to know if these Tim Tebow-led Broncos can deal a crushing blow to a top-tier team, just ask the Pittsburgh Steelers who were supposed to wipe the floor with them.

I was among the millions who gave the Broncos chances between slim and none in that game. Instead, they proved that defense can keep the Steelers at bay long enough for Tebow to take over.

In fact, I am willing to acknowledge something that seemed impossible just weeks ago. Tebow can play with a lead and can put points on the board.

And with that, we put the New England Patriots back on their heels. They have been put on notice that the unthinkable is quite possible, and it isn't because God is a Broncos fan—it's because the Broncos are playing a full game.

DEFENSE

The Broncos are playing a mean game right now, and you can thank Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil for giving the Broncos a scary tandem that New England has to worry about.

I have no doubt that the Patriots will put up points. This is not an offense you stop, merely quell just a bit. For the playoff game this weekend, it will be enough to haunt Tom Brady with a few hits and a bevy of hurries.

OFFENSE

This was the hardest part of the Broncos game to accept. There is no doubt that Tebow can put up points in bursts normally relegated to the fourth quarter. He showed another level on Saturday against the Steelers by putting up some pristine passes and making great decisions under duress.

This is all he needs to do to put up a decent enough score against a horrible secondary in New England. This game will be close and shocking, and it will belong to the Broncos.
