WWE News: WWE Possibly Faces Major Issue for Next Week's Monday Night Raw Show

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

Monday Night Raw is no stranger to competition.

Whether it’s Monday Night Football, The Bachelor or Dancing with the Stars, the WWE is accustomed to seeing its flagship show face some of TV’s biggest heavy hitters.

Unfortunately for the WWE, the company may have to go up against some unexpected competition at next week’s Raw show in Anaheim.

From PWInsider.com:

"

The 1/16 Raw takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.  Over the weekend Professional Bull Riders come to town for shows on Saturday and Sunday.  In order to ride those big boys, many truckloads of dirt are placed on the arena floor.  Sunday's event begins at 2 p.m. PST (which is 5 p.m. back east) and the estimated time of removal to get the dirt out of the building is 1 p.m. on Monday, which is 4 p.m. back east.  That would mean setting up for a Raw broadcast eight or more hours later than they usually do as they normally start their set up early in the morning.  Best case scenario is that it's a frantic day for all involved.

"

On the surface, it might not seem like this will affect us WWE fans all that much, but that’s where we’re wrong.

Raw has developed a reputation as a show that is booked on the fly, with show segments and storylines changing mere minutes before they air on national TV. So, I can only imagine what type of effort we’ll get from Raw next week with all of these distractions going on.

If we think that the show seems rushed, inconsistent or just plain bad most weeks, then just wait until next Monday.

It’s an unfortunate situation for the WWE, essentially playing second fiddle to a sport that most of the country could care less about. But it is a situation that the company will have to deal with, nonetheless.

How the company handles it is the key.

If the chaotic atmosphere stemming from the arena’s situation affects Vince McMahon and WWE officials backstage, then I’d bet on seeing a lackluster episode of Raw that leaves us scratching our heads next Monday.
