NFL Honors 2025: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Awards Odds and Predictions

Zach BuckleyFeb 5, 2025

The NFL MVP race reached the finish line.

The football world is still waiting to hear the winner.

That'll happen soon, though, as postseason awards will soon be handed out at the NFL Honors show.

The MVP is always the most discussed this race, and this year is no exception. While oddsmakers seem pretty convinced it will go to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, his counterpart on the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson, gave people plenty to talk about.

Does Allen have this in the bag? Or could Jackson defy the odds and capture the award for the third time in his career? We'll break out the crystal ball here with predictions for that race and a few of the other most prominent ones, too.

Award Predictions

MVP: Lamar Jackson

As the odds attest, this would be a surprise, as Jackson is fighting both voter fatigue and the narrative that Josh Allen had less help around him. If simply viewed for performance, though, Jackson had the better year. He threw for more yards (4,172 to 3,731) and touchdowns (41 to 28) with fewer interceptions (4 to 6) and a better completion percentage (66.7 to 63.6). And while Allen had a commanding lead in rushing touchdowns (12 to 4), Jackson had sizable advantages in rushing yards (915 to 531) and yards per carry (6.6 to 5.2).

Offensive Player of the Year: Saquon Barkley

There were some huge stat lines around the league, and yet it feels like Barkley is running unopposed. That's how dominant he was all season. Had he played in Week 18, he had a real chance to challenge Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson's all-time regular season rushing record. Since Barkley sat out that contest, he had to "settle" 2,005 rushing yards, 278 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 16 contests.

Defensive Player of the Year: Patrick Surtain II

T.J. Watt's numbers quieted late in the year, causing this award to slip out of his grasp and into the hands of Surtain. Denver's super-stingy cornerback is now positioned to become the first defensive back to win this award since 2019. Quarterbacks largely avoided him, yet he still found a way to tally four interceptions (one of which he returned 100 yards for a score), 11 pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Jayden Daniels

This is the easiest call on the board. That's not to discredit this season's other top freshmen, but Daniels' immediate impact was incredible. He turned a four-win Commanders team into a 12-win postseason problem, breaking the league's rookie records for completion percentage (69.0) and rushing yards by a quarterback (891) along the way.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Jared Verse

Verse lived in the opposition's backfield and effectively served as L.A.'s agent of chaos. His 4.5 sacks may not jump off the page, but his relentless work on film absolutely did. So, too, did the fact he paced all rookies in quarterback hits (18), pressures (77) and hurries (56), as noted by RamsWire's Cameron DaSilva.

Comeback Player of the Year: Joe Burrow

It's tempting to go with Sam Darnold here and spotlight his out-of-nowhere rise from journeyman backup to 14-win starter, but he wasn't coming back from anything other than being discarded. Burrow, meanwhile, returned from a wrist injury that cost him seven games last season to lead the league in completions (460), passing yards (4,918) and passing touchdowns (43).

Coach of the Year: Dan Quinn

There is no shortage of legitimate candidates for this award, but it often lands with the coach whose team did the best job of defying expectations. How many preseason Bingo cards had Washington winning 12 games? In Quinn's first season on the job, he tripled Washington's win count and upped its point differential from minus-189 to plus-94.
