National Signing Day 2025: Top Unsigned Recruits to Watch

Joe TanseyFeb 3, 2025

Only a few decisions are left to be made across the college football recruiting class of 2025.

Some of those final commitments will occur on National Signing Day on February 5.

A majority of the top recruits have already committed, and some of them are even already on campus preparing for the 2025 college football season.

Some of the remaining uncommitted recruits could shift the overall team rankings in the class of 2025. Michigan is the biggest player for the uncommitted players and could jump a spot or two in the rankings.

Top Unsigned Recruits

Ty Haywood, OT, Ryan HS (Denton, TX)

Ty Haywood is the player to watch this week.

The offensive tackle has been linked to Michigan for most of the time since decommitted from Alabama last year.

Haywood initially committed to the Crimson Tide, but he did not sign with the SEC program during the December signing window.

Michigan is competing with Florida State and Texas Tech for the No. 42 overall recruit in the class of 2025, per 247 Sports.

The Wolverines, who currently have the No. 7 recruiting class, may be able to sneak into the top six if they land Haywood's signature.

Haywood is the only top-100 recruit left unsigned, and in turn, he is the only remaining recruit who could truly change a team's spot in the overall team recruiting rankings for the class of 2025.

Zahir Mathis, EDGE, Imhotep (Philadelphia, PA)

Zahir Mathis' recruitment is more up in the air compared to Haywood.

The EDGE rusher out of Philadelphia made visits to Florida State and Maryland and also has interest from UCLA, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.

The 247 Sports crystal ball prediction on Mathis is currently split between Ohio State and Maryland, an indication that there's no true feel on where the top-200 prospect will sign.

Mathis' most-recent visits were to Florida State and Maryland, and he had one scheduled to UCLA before the California wildfires broke out.

Mathis' recruitment could come down to the wire because of the amount of schools involved.

His commitment would be a huge boost to any team, but for teams like Maryland and UCLA, it could be an even bigger boost to programs looking to compete with the top dogs in the Big Ten.
