During a Wednesday appearance on The Howard Stern Show (one-minute mark), the ESPN broadcaster said he has long wanted to host Saturday Night Live.
"I'll do a shameless plug," he said. "One of the things on my bucket list. I want to host Saturday Night Live."

Smith is no stranger to appearing on live television as one of the faces of ESPN, and he has also branched out to television appearances on political shows. He even made an appearance on the long-running soap opera, General Hospital.
SNL is certainly familiar with Smith as well.
