WWE Rumors: Alexa Bliss Return Plans 'On Hold Indefinitely' Ahead of Royal Rumble

Mike ChiariJan 22, 2025

WWE has reportedly put a pause on plans to bring five-time women's champion Alexa Bliss back into the fold.

According to PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Bliss was supposed to return on the second episode of Raw on Netflix in San Jose, California, on Jan. 13, but it did not come to fruition.

There were reportedly plans in place for Bliss to work with the Wyatt Sicks, however, the creative team was told to scrap all plans related to her return and they are now "on hold indefinitely."

PWInsider.com noted that Bliss was ready to come back and there were no creative issues, but there is speculation that the delay could be related to her contract, which is "an older WWE deal" that she signed before going on maternity leave.

Bliss, 33, last wrestled at the 2023 Royal Rumble, losing a Raw Women's Championship match against Bianca Belair.

She disappeared from WWE programming shortly thereafter, and Bliss later announced she was pregnant. Bliss and her husband, Ryan Cabrera, had their first child together in November 2023.

PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson reported a few months ago that there was "a lot of talk" regarding Bliss making her WWE return with the expectation that she would be back at some point during WrestleMania season.

In October, Bliss confirmed on her Instagram stories (h/t WrestleZone) that she would be returning to the ring at some point, writing: "For all of the questions in my comments yes- I will be returning. But for now, please enjoy my current content."

An angle with the Wyatt Sicks would have made sense for Bliss due to the fact that she worked closely with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt prior to his death.

Bo "Uncle Howdy" Dallas is Wyatt's real-life brother and the leader of the Wyatt Sicks, so having Bliss either join or contest the group would have been a full-circle moment.

The Wyatt Sicks recently moved from Raw to SmackDown, although they have yet to debut on the blue brand. When they do, there are no plans for Bliss to be involved, per PWInsider.com.

While the Royal Rumble on Feb. 1 seemingly would have been a good spot for Bliss to make a surprise return, the latest report suggests it may not be in the cards with her plans being placed on the backburner.
