Logan Paul Calls Out Bad Bunny for WWE Match

Former United States champion Logan Paul has made one of the most successful transitions ever from celebrity to pro wrestler, and he has his sights set on another person who belongs in that conversation.

Global music megastar Bad Bunny divulged this week in an interview with Rolling Stone (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) that he wants to get back in the ring for WWE, saying:

"I want to do it one more time. I want to put my life at risk in the ring. I felt like I didn't risk it enough in the ring, and I want to do it. I want to scare my mother When? I don't know. We stay in contact with the people at WWE, we're always paying attention to what's going on. But when, I don't know. I hope there's a time where I can really get ready, like I did the last few times. And I'd love to take more time to get ready physically."

The Latin icon has wrestled for WWE on a few occasions, including teaming with Damian Priest to beat The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37, and competing in the 2022 men's Royal Rumble match.

Most recently, Bad Bunny beat Priest in a highly entertaining match in his home country of Puerto Rico at Backlash in May 2023.

After catching wind of Bad Bunny's comments, Paul posted a response on his Instagram Stories, writing: "Then get in the ring with me."

Paul has not wrestled since SummerSlam back in August, which saw him drop the United States title to LA Knight. Before that, Paul had held the championship for an impressive 273 consecutive days.

He recently resurfaced on the debut episode of Raw on Netflix, as WWE played a promo package and showed Paul in the front row of the crowd.

It can be argued that almost nobody has ever taken to the wrestling business as quickly and smoothly as Paul, who debuted in a tag team match at WrestleMania 38 and has had many memorable matches and moments since then.

Both Paul and Bad Bunny have undoubtedly benefited from going up against seasoned and experienced wrestlers who were able to guide them through their matches, so a match between them would say a lot about where both of them stand in their development as wrestlers.

No Backstage Heat on Penta Despite Debut Reportedly Running Long

Despite an initial report to the contrary, there was reportedly no backstage heat on Penta for the length of his WWE debut match and promo this week on Raw.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Penta's match against Chad Gable and subsequent in-ring promo ran longer than planned, but there was no frustration with Penta backstage.

In fact, Penta's peers reportedly welcomed him with open arms and were happy for him to have his big moment after arriving in WWE for the first time in his career.

It was previously reported by PWInsider.com (h/t Wrestle Ops) that Penta went "way longer" than planned, which led to some other segments on the show getting trimmed for time.

PWInsider.com added that "there were some talents obviously not thrilled" with the way things played out.

Fightful Select noted that if there was any frustration on the part of talent, it was likely directed at whoever decided to shorten other segments rather than at Penta for soaking in his debut.

Penta previously held world titles in Lucha Underground and TNA, and he was both a tag team champion and trios champion during his run in AEW.

He has long been one of the most popular and recognizable luchadores in the world, and his stardom could be poised to reach a new level in WWE.

The company released several pieces of Penta merchandise on Monday, including shirts and masks, and he got a great reaction for his debut and his entertaining bout with Gable.

If Monday night is any indication, Penta will be a big factor in the future plans for the red brand on Netflix.

Reported Explanation for Raw's 2.5-Hour Runtime

There was reportedly a method behind the two-and-a-half-hour runtime WWE had in place for Raw this week.

The debut episode of Raw on Netflix was just north of three hours, while Monday's episode was about a half-hour shorter, confirming the notion that WWE does not have to adhere to a specific runtime on Netflix.

According to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, WWE does not have a hard out time for Raw, but it still wants to adhere to its pre-planned timeline for the show for a number of reasons.

Regarding this week's Raw specifically, WWE had multiple dark matches planned for after the Raw broadcast, and WWE wanted to provide fans with those matches while still allowing them to leave at a reasonable team.

WWE also wanted to get done at a time that would allow wrestlers who booked red-eye flights from San Jose, California, to their hometowns to leave that night.

The 2.5-hour runtime shouldn't have come as a big surprise since WWE head of creative Triple H recently indicated that it is his preferred show length.

During an appearance on the SI Media podcast with Jimmy Traina (h/t SI.com's Rick Ucchino), Triple H said the runtime would be "flexible," and added that 2.5 hours is his sweet spot since it offers more real estate than two hours without feeling drawn out.

While that doesn't mean Raw will run exactly 2.5 hours every week, it does seem likely that Monday's show length will be most common moving forward.
