Arian Foster Video: Watch Texans RB Torch Bengals for Touchdown

David DanielsJan 7, 2012

Arian Foster wants to be an acrobat when he grows up.  The Houston Texans running back hungers for the high wire and he showed the potential to tame the tightrope against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night.

Foster showed incredible burst flying past Cincinnati defenders, but his quickness, balance and acceleration stood out as he made Chris Crocker look like a fool.  Crocker recorded 45 solo tackles this season, but you definitely couldn’t tell as Foster, Australian for running back, shook and stiff-armed the safety to the Reliant Stadium Turf.

Putting the Texans up three scores, his run officially destroyed any slight hope that the Bengals had left at a comeback .  Without Matt Schaub, Foster put the offense on his back rushing for an incredible 153 yards and two touchdowns on 6.4 yards a pop.

Cincinnati knew exactly who they had to stop in round one of the NFL playoffs.  Marvin Lewis knew that T.J. Yates wouldn’t be able to beat them and that Foster was their only hope at moving the football, but the Bengals couldn’t do anything about it.

At 6’1”, 229 pounds, Foster proved to be too big and too powerful for the Bengals defenders to bring down.  His athleticism for a back that size, though, is what sets him apart and makes an opposing defense just look silly at times.

With their 31-10 win, Houston is set to face off against the Baltimore Ravens next week.

When the two teams played in the regular season, Houston didn’t fair too well.  Injuries give the two contests different circumstances as the Texans had Matt Schaub that week, but were without Andre Johnson.  Baltimore ended up winning 29-14 in a game which they held Foster to 49 yards on 15 carries.

If Foster performs like he did against the Bengals, though, there will be a much different outcome this time around.
