NFL Playoff Predictions: Tom Brady and Superstars Who Will Flame Out

Donald WoodJan 7, 2012

The 2011 NFL regular season is over and the playoffs are kicking off with what should be an entertaining wild-card round. The whole Super Bowl run will be great this season.

While many stars will emerge from this round, many of the regular season and fantasy stars you have learned to love will fall flat on their face.

All of the falling stars will underperform this postseason and disappoint fans all over the world.

Tom Brady

The New England Patriots are one of the best teams in the NFL, but they have a giant flaw when it comes to their defense. That flaw is they are statistically the second-worst defense in the NFL.

While Tom Brady and the potent Patriots offense has covered for their flaws, what happens if Brady has a mediocre day against one of the stellar defenses in the AFC? They lose.

There is no defense to lean on, so if New England’s offense isn’t pumping on all cylinders, they will be in for a very disappointing playoff run.

The one place that Pittsburgh’s vaunted defense can be exploited is in the secondary, but thank goodness for Steelers nation that Tim Tebow can’t pass.

While the Denver Broncos defense is sure to hold the Steelers to few points because of injuries to star players like Ben Roethlisberger and Rashard Mendenhall, Tebow and the Broncos won’t be able to run the ball.

Tebow throwing the ball is not the best way to win for the Broncos, and the Steelers will make him pay for mistakes. It will be a long Saturday for the Sunday Savior.

The Detroit Lions have been amazing this season, but they are facing off with the New Orleans Saints in the first round. That’s called bad luck.

While stellar QB Matthew Stafford has show why he was drafted so high, he will be outmatched against Drew Brees and picked apart by the Saints defense.

Stafford will be forcing passes all night when the Lions get down, so expect at least three interceptions in the epic meltdown.
