WWE and St. Bonaventure University jointly announced a multiyear licensing partnership Thursday, which includes the creation of Bonnies legacy championship belts.

In a post on X, WWE showed off the title belts, which are available for pre-order on WWEShop.com and Fanatics.com:

Former ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, who is now the general manager of the St. Bonaventure men's basketball team, posted about the working relationship between WWE and the Bonnies as well:

Wojnarowski mentioned his friendship with WWE president Nick Khan as a driving force behind the agreement.

Before becoming WWE president, Khan was a prominent sports agent, so it comes as little surprise that he had a close relationship with one of the leading reporters in basketball.

Per WWE.com, the deal with St. Bonaventure will include name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities for Bonnies basketball players and other student-athletes at the school.

Wojnarowski discussed the importance of St. Bonaventure being involved with a global brand like WWE, saying: "Our goal is to help connect St. Bonaventure athletics with best-in-class brands like WWE. Our fans will love the Bonnies-inspired championship title belts, and our student-athletes will be the beneficiaries of the opportunities that come from our alignment with WWE."

Khan also commented on the partnership and praised Wojnarowski, saying: "Woj instinctively understands the intersection of basketball and popular culture. We believe his know how will help bring St. Bonaventure to new heights and we're excited to be part of their journey."

The 55-year-old Wojnarowski shocked the basketball world in September when he announced he was stepping down form his role as the lead NBA insider at ESPN to become GM of the men's basketball team at his alma mater.

St. Bonaventure is a private school located in the town of Allegany, New York, which is about an hour and 20 minutes south of Buffalo.

While St. Bonaventure has had success in men's basketball over the years, including reaching the NCAA tournament eight times and the Final Four in 1970, it is quite a small school with an enrollment of less than 3,000 total students.

Because of that, it is a major accomplishment on Wojnarowski's part to strike a legacy title deal with WWE, as only major colleges such as Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU, North Carolina and a select few others were aligned with WWE previously.

If that wasn't enough, the Bonnies are off to a scorching-hot 9-1 start this season, putting them in good position to vie for an NCAA tourney berth in the coming months.
