The Rock Reportedly Scheduled to Appear on Raw's Netflix Debut

The Rock has not been on WWE programming since his surprise appearance at Bad Blood in October, but his hiatus reportedly may be set to come to an end.

As part of the Backstage Pass Q&A (h/t Aidan Gibbons of Cultaholic), WrestleVotes said this week that The Rock will "be there" when asked about the debut episode of Raw on Netflix on Jan. 6.

WWE has been hyping up the move to Netflix for months, and every indication is that the company plans to essentially treat the debut episode as a premium live event of sorts.

In addition to top current stars such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley and a host of others likely being on the show, it would make sense for WWE to involve plenty of past Superstars as well.

John Cena has already said he intends to be on the episode ahead of his final year as an active wrestler in 2025, and there is plenty of reason to believe a Rock appearance may be in the works as well.

The Rock returned to WWE last January, turning heel and aligning himself with Reigns in a rivalry against Rhodes and Seth Rollins, which led to a tag team match in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 40.

The Final Boss told Rhodes he would eventually return to target him and the WWE Championship, and he resurfaced at Bad Blood after Reigns and Rhodes beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match.

While the purpose of The Rock's appearance has yet to be revealed, more context could be added on the Jan. 6 Raw, especially if there are plans in place for The Rock to have a significant presence on the road to WrestleMania 41.

Reported Timetable for Jimmy Uso's Return

Jimmy Uso reportedly isn't expected to miss a significant amount of time after suffering an injury during the men's WarGames match at Survivor Series.

It was announced on last week's SmackDown that Uso broke his toe, but according to WrestleVotes on the Backstage Pass Q&A (h/t Gibbons), he is expected to return to WWE programming in January.

Considering some of the other injuries suffering during WarGames, Jimmy's was minor by comparison.

It was also announced on SmackDown that Bronson Reed broke his foot and Tonga Loa tore his biceps during the match, which will keep both of them out of action for months.

Jimmy teamed with his brother, Jey Uso, as well as Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn and CM Punk in a winning effort against the new Bloodline at Survivor Series.

It isn't yet known what that will mean for the long-term future of both the new Bloodline and the OG Bloodline, but it marked the first significant win for the new Bloodline since they got back together.

Since the Bloodline saga continues to be the biggest storyline in WWE and pro wrestling as a whole, Jimmy figures to be part of something significant leading up to WrestleMania 41.

Given that The Usos are among the greatest tag teams in WWE history, perhaps a reunion an a major match at WrestleMania could be in the cards for Jimmy and Jey.

TKO President Comments on 2-Night PLE Expansion

WrestleMania has been a two-night event since 2020, and there is some thought that other events could follow suit in the future.

Speaking recently to Ryan Gravett of UBS (h/t Gibbons), president of WWE parent company TKO, Mark Shapiro, said the following about other premium live events possibly expanding to two nights:

"There's definitely an opportunity for that. You know, it's all a progression, a natural evolution. WrestleMania was a big hit for us to expand. I think as you look at all these PLEs, again, depending on the partner, I think there's absolutely an opportunity to advance some of them to two days."

WWE already announced that starting in 2025, SummerSlam will become a two-night event, cementing it as WWE's second-biggest show of the year behind WrestleMania.

Royal Rumble and Survivor Series are considered WWE's two other tentpole premium live events, so it won't be a shock if they eventually follow suit as well.

Since Royal Rumble features both men's and women's Royal Rumble matches, and Survivor Series typically involves men's and women's WarGames matches, the shows are already tailor made for two nights.

Of course, making more premium live events two-night affairs to could lead to over-saturation, but based on WWE's popularity and the demand for tickets, the company may feel as though it can handle bigger, multi-night shows.
