LeBron, Bronny James' Lakers Jerseys from 1st Game Together Sell for $102K at Auction

LeBron James and Bronny James made history together on Oct. 22 when they became the first father and son duo to play together in an NBA game.

And now the Los Angeles Lakers jerseys they wore when facing the Minnesota Timberwolves have sold for $102,000.

The jerseys were sold as a pair on Wednesday through Sotheby's.

Brooks Peck of The Athletic noted the $102,000 price tag "may seem significantly lower than it could have been" considering Sotheby's just sold a game-worn LeBron James jersey from an in-season tournament semifinal win for $120,000 last year.

Even Bronny James' NBA Summer League debut jersey sold for $38,400.

However, Sotheby's included the following disclaimer on its website:

"Sotheby's attributes this Bronny jersey to the second half of the 2024-2025 Kia NBA Tip-Off game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, however, due to a lack of media of Bronny without a warm-up jacket on, it is not possible to photomatch. 2024-2025 Kia NBA Tip-Off was Bronny's 'Rookie Debut' game. 'First Game 2D Half 10/22' is handwritten on the jock tag."

It was certainly a memorable moment, as the James pair checked in together to a standing ovation in the second quarter of the season opener.

Gordie Howe played with sons Mark and Marty in the NHL, while MLB brought two father-son duos together on the field with Tim Raines and Tim Raines Jr. and, most famously, Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr.

However, this was the first time a father-son duo played together in the NBA.

It was also a testament to LeBron James' incredible longevity that he is still one of the best players in the league in his 22nd season. He played long enough to take the court with one of his sons, and now someone owns a part of that history following Wednesday's auction.
