Unrivaled, which was co-founded by the New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart and Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier, showcases a 3-on-3 format to offer fans a change of pace from the traditional style. Unlike with the BIG3 and other 3-on-3 competitions, games are played on a court that's 70 feet long and 50 feet wide as well, which will significantly open up the action.
On Nov. 20, the six teams drafted their rosters for the upcoming season. Thirty-three players have been confirmed with another three yet to be announced.
Unrivaled isn't lacking in star power to complement Stewart and Collier. Angel Reese, Jewell Loyd, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Satou Sabally, Skyla Diggins-Smith and Aliyah Boston are among big names taking part.
Mist Basketball Club and Lunar Owls Basketball Club will compete in Unrivaled's first-ever game, a contest that pits Loyd and Stewart against Diggins-Smith and Collier.
The regular season extends for eight weeks before the playoffs unfold on March 16 and 17, and four of the six teams qualify for the postseason.
TNT Sports will carry the entire campaign, with opening night broadcast on TNT.
