Buy or Sell Latest Becky Lynch WWE Return Rumors, Roman Reigns on Raw in 2025, More

Chris RolingNov 23, 2024

As November nears an end, the pro wrestling rumor mill doesn't feel like it is matching the WWE and AEW programming right now.

Meaning, the rumor mill itself is far hotter than the on-screen happenings.

That isn't so unusual, of course. The mill and all of its hypothetical and reported happenings tend to stay hot no matter what. Even with big items like WWE Survivor Series: WarGames on approach, though, it feels like things are winding down toward an "offseason" bit of stretch for pro wrestling.

Even so, the mill has plenty of eyebrow-raising stuff on offer, such as rumblings about The Rock, possible big-name returns and hype around one of WWE's flagship programs moving to Netflix.

Here's a look at the latest and most important rumors, plus whether fans should buy or sell on each.

WWE Linked to Edge...in an Interesting Way

1 of 5

The Rumor

Edge's name has suddenly returned to the rumor mill in an interesting way. According to Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats, WWE filed a trademark for the term "Edge" in a pro wrestling capacity.

Reaction

Sure, why not? It might even be a routine, perhaps even automatic thing for a brand like WWE to protect some of its biggest properties. That WWE wouldn't want the name Edge used in other promotions like AEW makes plenty of sense.

Buy or Sell?

Buy, though it doesn't mean fans should start getting hyped about a possible Adam Copeland return to WWE anytime soon. He's appeared to have plenty of enjoyment in his AEW run and frankly, the WWE product is already super bloated at the top with only so many matches and feuds to go around as it is.

Plans for the Rock

2 of 5

The Rumor

Rumblings about the how and why of The Rock are starting to pick up. According to WrestleVotes (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Rock is in the plans for upcoming shows and will "be around more" without brand restrictions.

Reaction

It feels like an obvious thing for the rumor mill to spit out, especially with Survivor Series coming up. There's a Bloodline match there that feels like it will serve as a big reveal when it comes to his involvement.

Buy or Sell?

Sell. Last time we saw Rock, he showed up randomly on an entrance ramp, gave a staredown, slapped some goosebumps and left. Photos from his current movie shoot just leaked online. He might make a brief appearance at Survivor Series, but it's hard to imagine he'll be back in any regular capacity so far away from WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns 2025 Plans?

3 of 5

The Rumor

How much and where are two of the common themes around Roman Reigns' name right now. According to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman), the plan for early 2025 is for the Tribal Chief to appear on Raw much more often than SmackDown.

Reaction

At this point, it shouldn't be all that surprising to hear WWE won't enforce a "brand split" for its top guys. That's especially the case for Reigns, and especially the case if he's involved in a Bloodline story that loops in The Rock near WrestleMania season.

Buy or Sell?

Easy buy. Reigns has long been associated with the blue brand, but it's the red brand that's stepping much more dramatically into the spotlight with the upcoming move to Netflix. Shifting the company's most important star and storyline onto that show makes all kinds of sense.

Becky Lynch Return Plans?

4 of 5

The Rumor

It feels like a matter of time before Becky Lynch walks back through that door and shakes up the WWE landscape. But according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, that big return won't happen at the upcoming Raw debut on Netflix.

Reaction

Lynch's name was always going to come up around some of the landmark events on the upcoming calendar. That January 6 debut of Raw on the powerhouse streaming platform is merely the latest.

Buy or Sell?

Sell. Lynch has been gone since late last May, losing to Liv Morgan. WWE is going to pull out all the stops to make that first Raw episode feel massive. Even if it's just a promo package or tease, one has to think that Lynch's presence will be felt in some way, especially as the women's division could use an interesting pre-WrestleMania shakeup.

Jake Paul Headed to WWE?

5 of 5

The Rumor

Speaking of things that feel inevitable, Jake Paul's name has finally been mentioned alongside WWE. According to WrestleVotes, there is "notable interest" within WWE when it comes to a Jake Paul appearance at a PLE in 2025.

Reaction

Logan Paul has been far better than expected in WWE, especially as an in-ring performer, so it's no great shock WWE would look to Jake and wonder if there's something worth investigating there.

Buy or Sell?

Easiest buy of the week, especially coming out of Jake's fight with Mike Tyson, which also featured Tyson exchanging some (worked?) words with Logan on camera. Even if Jake doesn't fully commit to wrestling, WWE would like his star power, whether it's in a 'Mania spectacle or used at a smaller PLE during a quiet part of the calendar.
