Video: Cowboys' Mike McCarthy Slams Tablet Amid 1st Half Struggles vs. Falcons

The Dallas Cowboys are, in a word, frustrated.

They entered Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons losers of two straight and 3-4 overall and quickly fell behind by double digits in the first half. Head coach Mike McCarthy took out his own frustrations on a tablet when he slammed it down:

Dallas stalled for just three points on its opening two offensive possessions, and the struggles reached a peak on its third drive when CeeDee Lamb was brought down for a loss of three yards on 4th-and-1.

Atlanta parlayed the ensuing possession into a touchdown when Kirk Cousins found a wide-open Darnell Mooney on its own fourth-down play.

McCarthy's job security has been a focal point this season, especially after the Cowboys went 1-3 in playoff games in the previous three campaigns under the head coach. The pressure is on for the NFC East team to find more success in the postseason, but even making the playoffs will be in question with another loss on Sunday.

The Cowboys were also in the headlines in the week leading up to Sunday's contest because of the altercation between cornerback Trevon Diggs and a reporter after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

McCarthy responded to that situation by telling reporters, "I think we have to be better in those moments. I always talk about staying on a high road."

There has been frustration both on and off the field for the Cowboys this season, and the tablet slam was just the latest example.
