Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Clears the Air With Reporter After Viral Confrontation Video

There is no more beef between Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and reporter Mike Leslie.

While Diggs confronted Leslie about a social media post following the Cowboys' loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, the two cleared the air Wednesday. As Leslie explained, he apologized for misinterpreting the play he posted about, while Diggs apologized for his response after the game:

The play in question came on a long gain for 49ers tight end George Kittle.

While it appeared like Diggs was jogging, he said he was actually anticipating a cutback from Kittle. And he let Leslie know about it after the game:

Cooler heads have since prevailed, although Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wasn't happy it happened.

"I think we have to be better in those moments. I always talk about staying on a high road," McCarthy said, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "That's part of our responsibility in this business. But I'm not ignorant or naive to the fact that this generation, that's part of the world they live in, the social media world. You have to manage that. That's part of being a professional athlete and that's part of representing this organization properly."

Diggs also addressed the situation on The Edge with Micah Parsons:

There is surely plenty of frustration at this point even if the cornerback and Leslie cleared the air. After all, the team is 3-4 and coming off a second straight loss.

It also has two ugly blowout losses to the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions and seems to be a step below the elite teams in the NFC. Things also don't get much easier in the next four games with matchups against the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Washington Commanders.

Diggs and the entire team will need to be better in the immediate future, or the season may slip away.

And that is surely not what anyone expected after the Cowboys made the playoffs in each of the last three campaigns.
