Yankees Fan Ejected from WS G4: 'We're Going to 'D' Up' If Ball Is 'In Our Area'
Even though the New York Yankees kept their season alive with an 11-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2024 World Series on Tuesday night, the biggest story coming out of the game was the fans who tried to steal a ball out of Mookie Betts' glove.
The play occurred in the bottom of the first inning when Betts caught a foul ball off the bat of Gleyber Torres when a fan sitting in the front row grabbed the Dodgers star's arm and glove attempting to dislodge the ball.

The fan, Austin Capobianco, told ESPN's Jesse Rogers he was trying to "D" up any play that came into his area.
"We always joke about the ball in our area," Capobianco said. "We're not going to go out of our way to attack. If it's in our area, we're going to 'D' up. Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We're willing to do this."
At least Capobianco got his 15 minutes because it wound up costing him a prime seat at Yankee Stadium in the World Series. He and John Peter, who was sitting next to him and also grabbed at Betts' glove, were immediately ejected by security.
Betts downplayed the situation after the game.
"It doesn't matter, we lost. It's irrelevant. I'm fine; he's fine; everything's cool. We lost the game," he told reporters. "That's what I'm focused on. Turn the page."
Per Rogers, Capobianco said he and Peter were told they could attend Game 5 on Wednesday. The Yankees didn't confirm whether or not that is true.
The Dodgers and Yankees will play Game 5 at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday at 8:08 p.m. ET. Los Angeles can clinch the series with a win. New York needs a victory to send the series back to Dodger Stadium.
