NFL Coach: Patrick Mahomes 'Growing Every Week as a Player. Best Competitor in' NFL
Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't lighting it up the way he has in years past, but he's still managed to help lead the team to a 7-0 start to the 2024 season.
While speaking to The Athletic's Jeff Howe, an opposing defensive coach praised Mahomes for his unmatched consistency even though he's not putting up the numbers we're accustomed to seeing from him.
"Mahomes is playing at an elite level," the coach said. "(He's) doing what it takes week in and week out, has complete command of the situations. His footwork in the pocket is as good as I've seen. (He's still) growing every week as a player. Best competitor in the game. He just wills his team to winning."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Mahomes ranks 16th in the NFL with 1,651 passing yards, and his nine interceptions are tied for the most in the league. He's thrown just eight touchdowns, but he's also completed a career-high 68.4 percent of his passes this year.
The Chiefs are no longer the offensive juggernaut they were when Mahomes first took over as the starting quarterback, but they've still maintained their success thanks to a strong defense and their resiliency in crucial moments.
Kansas City will try to remain undefeated when it meets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.
