WWE: Is Daniel Bryan's Possible Heel Turn Good for SmackDown?
Can I be the first one to say that I am already tired of Daniel Bryan as the World Heavyweight Champion?
What in the name of Harley Race is going on?
Last week Bryan, the "uberhappy" world champion won his match over Big Show by disqualification and in doing so, irked the giant into getting Teddy Long to agree to make a "no disqualification" match for this week.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
While I am not excited about Big Show gaining the strap again, I am more against the idea of Bryan parading around the arena like a lunatic and cheering like he just won Olympic gold. The premise, although taken from David vs. Goliath, isn't winning me over and hopefully other fans are as mad about it.
But what I did see last night was more fire in Bryan's tone when he told Big Show he would "give him a title match any time." Maybe we are finally seeing some stones in that small body of his, but the idea of a small, mountainman-like character (get rid of the beard!) trying to pull one over when we all know there is a turn about to happen, is sad.
The fact that Bryan won the title at MITB and the creative team waited so long to have him defend it is nuts as well.
Bryan, in an angle with a Cody Rhodes, a healthy Christian or even a cross-brand match with The Miz makes more sense. Either way, we are seeing the gradual change of a WWE superstar (no, not like Cena).
In wrestling today and especially on SmackDown where the wrestlers are larger and stronger and dwindling in numbers, Bryan is the exception to the rule, and therefore creative must find an angle like one with Mark Henry or Big Show.
Personally, I hate it. Christian and Randy Orton, who are nursing injuries, would be more "believable" opponents. They are not around and therefore cannot make it happen.
Maybe Chris Jericho would be a good fit for this kind of angle and later a unification of the titles between Jericho and CM Punk?
If the "heel turn" comes full circle, which may happen this Friday, what happens to his character if he loses? What happens to his character if he wins? Cross-face holds are not as effective on larger wrestlers and it would not make for "real" wrestling.
At this point, it may be better for him to win Friday, and see what happens with the title situation. Wade Barrett or Sheamus, when they are done killing each other, should be part of this mix, but as you know, sometimes creative cannot keep a good thing going.
