MLB Playoffs 2024: Playoff Picture, Bracket, Standings Before Season Finales
American League
1 of 2
Division Winners
1. New York Yankees (93-68)
2. Cleveland (93-69)
3. Houston (88-73)
Wild-Card Teams
1. Baltimore (90-71)
2. Detroit (86-75)
3. Kansas City (85-76)
Only one thing has to be sorted out in the American League on Sunday.
Detroit needs a win over the Chicago White Sox to secure the No. 5 seed and a wild-card round matchup with the Orioles.
Kansas City must beat the Braves and have the Tigers lose to the White Sox to jump up to the No. 5 seed by virtue of the head-to-head tiebreaker it owns over the Tigers.
Baltimore gets the No. 5 seed at home in the first round, while Houston hosts the No. 6 seed.
The New York Yankees secured home-field advantage in the AL playoffs on Saturday. Cleveland is locked into the No. 2 seed.
National League

Division Winners
1. Los Angeles Dodgers (97-64)
2. Philadelphia (94-67)
3. Milwaukee (93-68)
Wild-Card Race
1. San Diego (93-68)
2. Atlanta (88-71)
3. New York Mets (87-72)
4. Arizona (88-73)
Atlanta and the New York Mets hold the power in the NL wild-card race.
The Braves are in the driver's seat after the results of the last two days. They beat the Royals twice, while the Mets fell to the Brewers and DBacks came up short against the Padres.
Atlanta clinches a playoff berth with a Sunday win at home over the Royals or through a DBacks loss to the Padres.
The Mets can clinch a playoff berth with a victory and an Arizona loss.
Arizona needs a win over San Diego plus losses by Atlanta and New York to secure a playoff spot.
A Mets loss or a DBacks win would force the Monday doubleheader between the Braves and Mets to be played in Atlanta.
The Mets could be in a position where they have to win twice on Monday to clinch a playoff berth if they lose on Sunday and Arizona wins.
If all three teams lose on Sunday, Atlanta would clinch a playoff spot and the Mets would need a win on Monday to get in.
Atlanta only needs to win on Monday if it loses on Sunday and the DBacks are victorious in their regular-season finale.
Everything else is settled in the NL. The Dodgers have home-field advantage, the Phillies are the No. 2 seed, Milwaukee is the No. 3 and will host the No. 6 seed and San Diego is the No. 4 seed and welcomes the No. 5 seed to Petco Park.
