WWE Rumors: Latest on AJ Styles' Contract and Future Ahead of Bad Blood 2024

Styles last performed for WWE on Aug. 29 in a live event during the Road to Bash in Berlin tour at Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany. His last television appearance was at the Clash at the Castle: Scotland premium live event on June 15 where he lost an "I Quit" match to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Sapp added that Styles is "healthy, off television, and spending time with his family" as WWE gears up for the Bad Blood premium live event on Oct. 5 (h/t H. Jenkins of Ringside News). It was also noted that there hasn't been a confirmation as to whether WWE is attempting to sign him to a new contract.
At 47 years old, Styles is still one of the best in-ring performers in all of wrestling. However, he told The Ringer before WrestleMania 40 in April that he's nearing the end of his "Phenomenal" career.
"I'm getting close to the end. I want to have that story and match to go with it before I leave the WWE," Styles said. "I'm done. I'm going to retire. I'm getting to that point where I am worried about embarrassing myself. My brain says, 'We can do this.' My body is like, 'You're stupid. We cannot do this. We're hurting every day when we roll out of bed.' At some point, this has to come to an end."
If Styles is hanging up his wrestling boots soon, fans will certainly be hoping to see him get one last run in WWE that would allow him to add more memories and leave on his own terms.
