Buying Jacob Fatu as a Legit Main Event Star in WWE

Donald WoodSep 27, 2024

Since making his debut with WWE on June 21, Jacob Fatu has established himself as one of the brightest prospects in the company and a future main event talent through his affiliation with The Bloodline.

At just 32 years old, he has been wrestling for over a decade, formulating his unique look and style throughout the independent circuit before joining Major League Wrestling and becoming a top star for the brand.

During his time with MLW, Fatu held the company's World Heavyweight Championship for a record 819 days. WWE may be on a much higher level than MLW, but the fact that he was entrusted for that long with a promotion's top title is indicative of his potential star power.

Fatu has the look, in-ring skill and family lineage to be a marquee player in WWE, but it takes the commitment of the creative team to reach the main event.

Luckily for the son of Sam Fatu, the Bloodline storyline has been the cornerstone of programming for well several years.

To set the stage, Fatu's debut consisted of attacking some of the most popular performers on the roster, including Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes. On the night before SummerSlam, he won the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Instead of holding tag team gold, though, WWE took the belt off Fatu without a loss and put him in position to be Solo Sikoa's personal enforcer. With Roman Reigns returning to the picture and coming after the new Tribal Chief, Fatu has taken center stage.

In every match Fatu is booked, he is the unstoppable force who dominates challengers, setting him up as the strongest member of the new Bloodline. Reigns' biggest threat from the new version of his stable is Fatu, even more than Sikoa.

At Bad Blood on October 5, Fatu will face his biggest test when he and Sikoa team up to take on the unlikely tandem of Reigns and Rhodes.

While the heels will be used to put over the bigger angle between the faces for the world title, Fatu will shine bright and come out of the event stronger despite the loss.

There is a chance The Rock eventually returns to interject himself back into the Bloodline storyline, and there is little doubt Fatu will be used over Sikoa or the other members of the stable when the company needs someone to fight on The Final Boss' behalf.

With a bright future at the top of the card ahead, Fatu has already proved he can be a pivotal part of the main event scene as part of The Bloodline. The story has no end in sight, meaning the WWE Universe should get used to seeing him at the end of almost every show.
