Video: Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes Meet Before WWE Bad Blood vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu
WWE dropped a video package during Friday's edition of SmackDown featuring Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns meeting on Georgia Tech's football field, where the latter WWE Superstar once played for the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech is in Atlanta, where Bad Blood will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5. Rhodes and Reigns, former bitter rivals, have formed an uneasy alliance against common enemies in the Bloodline. During Bad Blood, Rhodes and Reigns will take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
In Atlanta, Rhodes and Reigns had an intense conversation. Rhodes wanted Reigns' word that he would have his back. Reigns agreed, but he also made clear that he wants his Undisputed Universal title belt back when all is said and done.
Rhodes has held the belt since WrestleMania XL, when he defeated Reigns and ended his 1,316-day reign as Universal Champion and 735-day reign as WWE Champion.
Reigns made his return after more than four months away post-WrestleMania after interfering in Rhodes' title match against Sikoa, helping the champion retain the belt.
Rhodes later defended his title against Sikoa at SmackDown on Sept. 13 in a steel cage match but paid the price via an attack from the Bloodline. Rhodes then got help again from Reigns, though, to stop the beating.
That eventually led to Sikoa calling for a tag team match featuring himself and Jacob Fatu against Reigns and Rhodes. Neither seemed interested as they shared the ring, but an attack from the Bloodline changed their minds. They warded off their foes, signed a contract and became partners.
