Indiana's announcement of the award highlighted just how dominant Clark, who also took home the Rookie of the Month for the third time this season, was in August.

She averaged 24.0 points, 8.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game in the month while leading the Fever to a 5-1 record. Wins over fellow playoff teams in the Connecticut Sun, Seattle Storm and Phoenix Mercury stood out, as did a head-to-head victory over fellow rookie Angel Reese's Chicago Sky.

Clark is averaging 18.7 points, a league-best 8.4 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game and became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 20 points and 10 assists in a single game five different times in one season.

The Iowa product is cruising toward the Rookie of the Year and surely has eyes on a bigger prize given Indiana's recent play. With the trio of Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston leading the way, the Fever are 6-1 since returning from the Olympics break and in sixth place in the WNBA standings at 17-16.

It is quite the turnaround following a 1-8 start, and they figure to be dangerous in the playoffs with Clark running the show with her scoring and facilitating.

As for Collier, she averaged 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in August while leading the Lynx to a 6-1 record.

Minnesota is tied with the Connecticut Sun for the second-best record in the league at 24-9 and just three games behind the New York Liberty for the No. 1 overall seed. And it could be headed toward a first-round playoff matchup with Clark's Fever if the current standings hold.
