Caitlin Clark, Fever vs. Angel Reese, Sky Is Most Expensive Ticket in WNBA History

Zach BacharAug 30, 2024

Friday night's clash between Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky is the most expensive game to attend in WNBA history.

According to TickPick, the average ticket price of $334 is the highest mark in the association's history (h/t Complex).

While Clark and Reese are two of the league's rising stars, the contest also has postseason implications. The Fever and Sky currently own the last two playoff spots in the WNBA standings.

The two teams have already met three times this season, with Indiana owning a 2-1 advantage. The matchups between both squads have drawn plenty of attention, as the clash between the teams on June 23 set a previous record with an average ticket price of $271 on TickPick (via USA Today's Jordan Mendoza).

Clark and Reese have lived up to expectations since they were selected with the No. 1 and No. 7 overall picks in the 2024 WNBA draft. They currently own the top two rookie scoring averages in the league, with Clark leading the way at 18.0 points per game.

They've also made history several times, with one of them likely earning the Rookie of the Year award at the end of the season. Clark set new rookie single-season records for assists and three-pointers, while Reese set a WNBA record earlier in the season by finishing with a double-double in 15 straight games.

Friday's contest also features a "get-in" price of $165, which represents a higher mark than the cheapest available tickets for the Chicago Bulls' home opener to start the 2023-24 season (h/t NBC Sports Chicago).

The Fever have been heating up, winning seven of their past 10 games. Meanwhile, the Sky are attempting to end a four-game losing streak.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
