Frank Lampard: Where Does Chelsea FC Legend Go from Here?
Frank Lampard has been criticised nonstop throughout his career. He has been attacked for his overall play, many claiming all he can add to the team is goals. He has proven time after time, mainly visible by Chelsea fans, that he does have an overall game. He provides numerous assists, second in the all-time premiership rankings, with 88. Lampard also serves the team with nonstop running, as shown against Wolves, with a trademark last-minute goal.
The point I'm trying to put across is that Lampard is the ultimate player whose criticism is completely unjustified. I love Lampard, but I can't help think about what's next for him.

He does have the legs to last for the next few years. But at Chelsea? One has to think that the speculation linking him to L.A. Galaxy and Manchester United won't stop just yet, and I can't help but fear that his head might be turned by a big-money move to end his career. I would be against that, though. And as for going to one of Chelsea's main rivals, such as Man U, I am slightly ashamed. I would then label him as Judas. But actually think for a moment—will he actually leave Chelsea for a rival? Someone with loyalty to Chelsea would immediately say, "No!" if that opportunity did arise.
Though Lampard may not be the person in control of his departure, if the rumours are true, there is a so-called power struggle at Chelsea between AVB and the senior players at Chelsea. I'm talking about the Lampards, the Terrys and the Coleses. AVB wants to take full control of the squad with the "legendary" player power that Chelsea has been known for. This is something completely new for the Chelsea players to get used to. I may be wrong, but I think that the senior players are not to happy about that.
One example is Drogba's reluctance to sign a one-year-contract, instead demanding a two-year contract, which he feels he deserves. I think everyone can call him a stupid man or a brave man to take on one of the fiercest spines of a team in the world. This I feel is one of the main reasons why Lampard hasn't played all the matches that he usually completes.
Though if all the articles being written about Chelsea are false, then maybe Lampard may think about ending his career to stick with the Chelsea revolution as a part of AVB's back room staff. His respect throughout the world of football will allow him to put his expertise forward with how Chelsea should go forward, a much smarter way than trying to do it when still being a player. Though this option is largely unlikely.
Personally, the best way for Frank to go from here is to get on with playing his football like he always does when things arrive in his career. For someone who is supposedly coming towards the end of his career, as well as not playing week in week out for his club he has done ridiculously well to manage nine goals and five assists. For me Lampard is a legend, and AVB should get fully behind him. Because when the team needs a goal or a little bit of class, I have no doubt that Lampard is one of the best in the world to provide such a thing.
