Yankees Rumors: Jazz Chisholm Jr. Expected to Return for Rockies Series amid Injury

New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., who is on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left elbow, is expected to be activated before the team's home series against the Colorado Rockies begins Friday.

SNY's Andy Martino relayed the news.

Chisholm suffered the injury while sliding safely into home plate in the team's Aug. 12 game against the Chicago White Sox. He spoke to reporters about it afterward.

"I'm not super concerned about it," Chisholm said. "We went through all the tests, and all the tests that we've done in here have been pretty positive. I still feel it a little bit, it's still kind of sore, but I think that we're going to be good."

The Yankees acquired Chisholm via trade from the Miami Marlins on July 27. The 26-year-old has been sensational for New York, hitting seven home runs in 14 games to go along with a .316 batting average and 1.062 OPS.

The Yanks have gone 9-5 with Chisholm in the lineup, helping the team land in first place in the American League East, a game above the Baltimore Orioles.

He was on fire before landing on the IL, getting two hits in three of his final four games and hitting a homer in three straight games from Aug. 8-10.

Chisholm helped boost a lineup that has, for the most part, struggled at times outside the exploits of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. With him back on the team, the Yankees' offense should receive a huge boost as it hopes to hold off the O's for the division.
