Video: Phillies Rookie Weston Wilson Hits for Cycle vs. Nationals; 10th for Franchise

Weston Wilson had quite the night at Citizens Bank Park.

The Philadelphia Phillies rookie hit for the cycle against the Washington Nationals, becoming the 10th player in franchise history to accomplish the feat.

He hit a triple and a single in the fourth, a home run in the seventh and a double in the eighth to solidify the milestone.

Wilson became the first Phillies player to hit for the cycle since catcher J.T. Realmuto did in in 2023. He became the first Phillies player to accomplish the feat at home since David Bell in 2004. He is the fourth player to hit for the cycle in the 2024 season.

He has only played in 16 MLB games in 2024 and 23 total in his career. The 29-year-old was a 17th-round pick in 2016 and has spent the majority of his career in AAA.

Wilson will hope this strong performance will allow him to have an extended stay with the Phillies and that he could potentially make a case to crack the postseason roster. The Phillies are currently 71-50 and lead the NL East.
