Despite a post on Instagram referring to her wrestling career in the past tense, Becky Lynch reportedly hasn't informed WWE of any plans to retire.

According to Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), Lynch could retire without notifying anyone since she is currently a free agent, but sources within WWE said they weren't privy to her retiring and didn't believe she would announce her retirement on Instagram.

On Sunday, an episode of Biography: WWE Legends focused on Lynch's life and career aired on A&E.

The Man took to Instagram afterward and posted the following message accompanied by a photo of herself and her daughter: "It's been a helluva career. Being The Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV."

Although Lynch's wording was undoubtedly reflective, there has reportedly been a belief within WWE that she will be back at some point.

Per Fightful, WWE wanted to be respectful and give her space once her contract expired in June, but both sides felt she would eventually return to the fold when ready.

The 37-year-old Lynch, who is married to top WWE star Seth Rollins, signed with WWE 2013 and had been a constant in the company for about a decade straight aside from the time she stepped away in 2020 and 2021 to give birth to her daughter.

All told, Lynch won seven women's world titles on the WWE main roster in addition to being a one-time NXT women's champion and one-time WWE women's tag team champion.

She was a key figure in WWE all the way up until her contract expired, as she dropped the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan and King and Queen of the Ring in May and lost a steel cage rematch on the ensuing episode of Raw.

Lynch has already enjoyed a Hall of Fame career regardless of whether she ever wrestles again, but WWE will undoubtedly welcome her back with open and arms if and when she is ready to return.

Fatu Reportedly May Have Avoided Serious Injury

Bloodline member Jacob Fatu reportedly may have avoided a serious injury despite appearing to injure his leg during the main event of SummerSlam on Saturday.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlePurists), Fatu was "hurting" after SummerSlam, but he was also told the injury "wasn't that bad."

During the Bloodline Rules match for the undisputed WWE Championship between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam, there was a ton of interference, including Fatu getting involved on Sikoa's behalf.

Fatu hit Rhodes with a splash through the announce table and immediately clutched his leg or ankle. Fatu was a nonfactor for the rest of the match, as he never got back to his feet and looked on from the outside as Roman Reigns returned and cost Sikoa the match.

Meltzer noted that Fatu was always supposed to sell the effects of jumping through the announce table so as to avoid a confrontation with Reigns and save it for a later date.

Fatu may have coincidentally gotten injured legitimately in the process, but Meltzer added that it isn't yet clear if he will have to miss any time.

On the go-home episode of SmackDown prior to SummerSlam, Fatu and Tama Tonga beat DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championships, so losing Fatu for any period of time would be a major blow to the tag team division.

Fatu has also been the standout star of the new version of The Bloodline, so WWE can ill afford to have him on the shelf now that Reigns is back in the fold.

Reigns, Priest Reportedly Listed Internally as Babyfaces by WWE

After the events of SummerSlam, Roman Reigns and Damian Priest are now being listed internally by WWE as babyfaces rather than heels, according to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson.

Reigns hadn't been seen since dropping the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in April, but he resurfaced in the main event of SummerSlam between Cody and Solo Sikoa.

Rather than going after his rival in Rhodes, Reigns laid out Sikoa with an emphatic spear in an apparent act of payback after Solo took over the role of Tribal Chief and criticized Reigns in recent promos.

As for Priest, he dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther at SummerSlam due to interference from Finn Bálor, who turned on Priest and cost him the title.

On Raw, Bálor revealed that he was part of a new version of The Judgment Day with Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, JD McDonagh and Carlito, leaving Priest and Rhea Ripley on the outside.

Priest beat McDonagh by disqualification in a match on Raw, and although The Judgment Day attacked him afterward, Ripley ran down to make the save.

Both Priest and Ripley were firmly established as big-time faces at SummerSlam, meaning The Judgment Day succeeded in terms of elevating two top talents.
