Baseball Signed by Babe Ruth, Full Inaugural Baseball HOF Class to Sell at Auction

Timothy RappAug 2, 2024

A baseball signed by the very first class in the Baseball Hall of Fame—the 1939 group featured Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Pete "Grover Cleveland" Alexander, Tris Speaker, Larry "Nap" Lajoie, Connie Mack, George Sisler and Eddie Collins—is being sold at auction at SCP Auctions.

It was pitcher Eddie Rommel who reportedly had the idea to have the 11 titans of the game sign a single baseball. It's undoubtedly one of the most incredible pieces of baseball memorabilia in existence.

As of Friday, the highest bid for the baseball was $170,000. Bidding will continue through Saturday.
