The Bengals enter the game as the AFC's No. 6 seed with a 9-7 record and have not won a playoff game since 1990. It is the franchise's tenth playoff appearance all-time and holds a postseason record of 5-9.
The Houston Texans won their first AFC South title in 2011 with a 10-6 record and are the AFC's No. 3 seed. This is the Texans first playoff berth as a franchise since their establishment in 2002. It is also the first NFL postseason game held in The City of Houston since the 1993 Oilers.
Detroit at New Orleans

For the first time since 1999, the Detroit Lions qualify for postseason play. The Lions finished 2011 with a 10-6 record and are the NFC's No. 6 seed. Detroit has not won a playoff game since the 1991 season, has a 7-10 record all-time in the postseason and this is their sixteenth appearance.
The New Orleans Saints managed to finish off 2011 on eight straight wins and post a record of 13-3. As the NFC's No. 3 seed, the Saints won the NFC South, are making their ninth playoff appearance and have a postseason record of 5-7.
From their establishment in 1967, the Saints didn't make a playoff appearance until 1987.
Atlanta at NY Giants

The Atlanta Falcons enter the NFL postseason with a 10-6 record, the NFC's No. 5 seed and are making their third playoff appearance in the last four seasons (four straight winning records). The Falcons have a 6-10 postseason record with 2011 being their eleventh appearance, but haven't won a playoff game since 2004.
Established in 1925, the New York Giants are making their thirty-first playoff appearance and have an all-time postseason record of 20-24. Winners of three Super Bowls, the Giants haven't won a playoff game since Super Bowl XLII and enter this postseason as the NFC's No. 4 seed with a 9-7 record.
Pittsburgh at Denver

From their establishment in 1933 through the 1971 NFL season, the Steelers made just two postseason appearances. Since, their longest playoff drought was a four-year span from 1985-88. Entering these playoffs with a 12-4 record and the AFC's No. 5 seed, Pittsburgh is making it's twenty-eighth playoff appearance and has an all-time playoff record of 33-21.
Making their first playoff appearance since 2005, the Broncos won the AFC West with an 8-8 record and are the AFC's No. 4 seed. Posting an all-time playoff record of 17-15, Denver has now qualified eighteen times for the postseason.
