Chris Jericho: News on How His WWE Return Was Mapped out and Future Plans
According to WrestleZone.com, Chris Jericho always intended on coming back to the WWE.
Statements on his Twitter account alluding to never returning to wrestling were Jericho's way of throwing off people on the scent of his imminent return.
In actuality, while Jericho was proclaiming he would never appear on Raw or SmackDown again, he was having constant meetings with Vince McMahon at the WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

In addition, the idea of playing the mysterious, viral videos came from the WWE's social networking department—which was very much in the loop.
The "It Begins" videos were seen as a two-pronged strategy to not only satisfy the WWE's Twitter-pushing initiative, but serve as an effective platform to herald the comeback of a main-eventer (Jericho).
That being said, many executives within the company believed the foreboding pieces to be too "smart" for their own good.
While the videos did seem too vague at times, they did, however, set out what they accomplished to do—to get the audience talking.
In fact, Jericho's return was good enough for a .2 increase in the Raw rating from the week before, giving credence to the notion that fans were interested in witnessing the ultimate reveal.
Moreover, it should be noted that when watching the segment unfold live backstage, many WWE personnel noticed Chris Jericho's new character to be eerily reminiscent of John Laurinaitis' "Dynamic Dude" character two decades ago.
Perhaps there will be an affiliation between Laurinaitis and Jericho, who is slated to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 28.
Quite frankly, Laurinaitis and Y2J would complement each other well as two smarmy heels. Naturally, Jericho would be appointed by the interim Raw GM to end Punk's WWE title reign.
And once WrestleMania 28 comes and goes, Jericho is expected to remain with the company until at least SummerSlam 2012.
Apparently, a marquee match is in the works between Y2J and an unnamed superstar at the WWE's annual summer spectacular.
As for what happens after that is anyone's guess, but for now Jericho is once again a WWE superstar.
