Terrell Owens: Tom Brady 'Ignored Me' When I Offered to Replace Antonio Brown on Bucs

Hall of Famer Terrell Owens wasn't happy to get the shoulder from Tom Brady when he lobbied to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and replace Antonio Brown.

During an appearance on The Bubba Dub Show, Owens said he used Randy Moss as an intermediary in an attempt to reach Brady late into the 2021 season.

"Tom Brady ignored me, bro," he said at the 39:25 mark. "... At that point in time, it was at the end of the season. I didn't need to play a full season. They just needed somebody to fill some holes with AB leaving at the receiver position."

Owens said he was willing to be used primarily on third downs and inside the red zone. The six-time Pro Bowler also went so far to say the Bucs might've won the Super Bowl that year if they had signed him.

Tampa Bay was left scrambling for help at receiver heading into the playoffs after Brown famously walked off the field during a Week 17 win over the New York Jets. Chris Godwin had suffered a torn ACL before that.

Owens' recent comments aren't surprising because days after Brown's sudden exit he was ready to answer the call and team up with Brady.

Owens was 48 years old at the time and he has been out of the NFL since 2010. Those two factors on their own raise obvious questions about how much impact he might've had on the field. Then there's the added difficulty of learning a new offense and adjusting on the fly with the postseason right around the corner.

Despite how implausible this comeback scenario sounds, it's clear TO is still holding a bit of a grudge against Brady.
