Celtics' Jaylen Brown Praises Team USA's Anthony Edwards on Instagram: '#1 Option 💯'

Jaylen Brown had high praise for Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

The Boston Celtics star and Finals MVP left a comment on Edwards' most recent Instagram post, calling him Team USA's No. 1 option.

Being dubbed the No. 1 option is quite the compliment considering the level of talent on Team USA. The roster features NBA veterans like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry along with some of the best players in the league like Anthony Davis and Brown's teammate, Jayson Tatum.

Brown hailing Edwards as the No. 1 option comes after the Timberwolves star recently called himself Team USA's first option.

"I'm still the number one option. Y'all might look at it differently," Edwards said last week. "...I just go out there and be myself. Shoot my shots, play defense. They've got to fit in to play around me. That's how I feel."

Edwards' confidence is seemingly high after the best season of his career. He put up a career-high 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game last year while leading the Timberwolves to their first 50-win season since 2003-04.

In the playoffs, Edwards put on a slew of impressive performances to take Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in two decades, though the Timberwolves ultimately fell to the Dallas Mavericks.

Whether Edwards will be Team USA's first option as they travel to the Olympics later this month is still to be determined, but the United States certainly has a roster capable of winning another gold medal.

Team USA will begin its Olympic journey in Paris on July 28 when it faces a Nikola Jokić-led Serbia team.
