Both the American League and National League teams will have some slight changes for the 2024 All-Star Game.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (shoulder) and Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (back) will be forced to sit out the Mid-Summer Classic. Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg and Cincinnati Reds starter Hunter Greene were announced as their respective replacements.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Devers had been dealing with an injury in his AC joint for quite some time. Cora noted that the 27-year-old has been "he's been grinding through a few things" even though he was in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Oakland Athletics.

"As a group, we believe it's a good time for him to get some rest and take care of it," Cora said.

The Dodgers placed Glasnow on the 15-day injured list due to back tightness. Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Glasnow's back flared up while he was playing catch over the weekend, but it's expected that he will be able to return after the All-Star break.

Westburg is hitting .281 with 14 homers for the Orioles. He's the fourth Baltimore player to earn a selection, joining starters Gunnar Henderson (shortstop) and Adley Rutschman (catcher) and pitcher Corbin Burnes.

"I was very honored, humbled by just the fact that I was in those conversations," Westburg said earlier Tuesday. "It's something that coming into the year I didn't -- I certainly wouldn't have expected. I have confidence in my abilities, but I would have never thought that I would be in the talks halfway through the year to be an All-Star. So it's cool. It's something that I'll never forget, no matter how long my career goes."

Greene is joining Reds star Elly Della Cruz on the NL roster. The 24-year-old has a 5-4 record with a 3.45 ERA in 18 starts and leads Cincinnati with 116 strikeouts.

"Hopefully I have a lot more opportunities like today and I'll be able to enjoy moments like this," Greene said. "It's exciting to be able to do it early [in my career]. I think the best part is this offseason was being able to get an understanding more of what I need to do in order to perform at my best. I'm still going to figure that out. … It's never going to stop. It's even more motivation to go into the offseason and work even harder to be able to do it again in the future."
