Angel Reese: 'I Was Shook' During Viral Hot Mic Video at Sky Press Conference

Timothy RappJul 8, 2024

During the Chicago Sky's press conference over Zoom following Sunday's 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm, it appeared a reporter forgot to go on mute and was having a very intimate conversation.

That led to some amazing facial reactions from the Sky players, including star rookie Angel Reese, who posted on social media Monday that she was "shook" in the moment:

It turns out that what the mic picked up was actually a scene from the sitcom The Big Bang Theory and not a real conversation, which surely was a relief for all involved.

It was an eventful day for Reese, who posted her 13th consecutive double-double in the loss, setting a WNBA record in the process. Reese, who notched 17 points and 14 rebounds, beat the previous record of 12 straight double-doubles from the WNBA great Candace Parker in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

"It's absolutely amazing to see," head coach Teresa Weatherspoon told reporters regarding the accomplishment. "She might be surprising herself, but she's not surprising me. It's something that she can do because it's something that she puts the work in to be able to do. And it's a will and want-to ... it's awesome to see the work that you have to put in to be able to do this."
