Angel Reese Impresses WNBA Fans Despite A'ja Wilson's Dominance in Aces Win vs. Sky

A record-setting ninth straight double-double from Angel Reese wasn't enough to lift the Chicago Sky to victory Thursday night over two-time MVP A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.

Wilson led both teams with 31 points to power the defending WNBA champions to a 95-83 win in Chicago.

Reese meanwhile made history with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

The rookie tied the single-season record Candace Parker set in 2015 with nine consecutive double-doubles.

She is also the youngest player in WNBA history to mark double-doubles in nine straight games.

The performance left some fans convinced that Reese has established herself as the frontrunner for the WNBA's Rookie of the Year over the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark.

No matter the results of the game or the end-of-year awards, WNBA fans were excited to see one of the game's best rookies play on the same court as arguably the most talented player in league history.

Sky fans will now be watching for Reese to take on the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday at home.

If Chicago's ROY candidate can record another double-double against Napheesa Collier and the Lynx, she will set a record for the longest streak within a single WNBA season.
