Photo: Derek Jeter's Wife Hannah Gives Yankees Icon Surprise Party for 50th Birthday

As Derek Jeter prepares to turn 50 on June 26, the New York Yankees legend was treated to an early birthday party over the weekend.

The Hall of Fame shortstop took to Instagram to share photos from a surprise party thrown by his wife, Hannah.

The event took place at ZZ's Club New York, a private membership club located in Hudson Yards.

The party had quite the guest list, including former Yankee teammates CC Sabathia, Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams and Jorge Posada. Former Yankees manager Joe Torre was another notable attendee.

Jeter's milestone birthday taking place in New York is very fitting. He defined Yankee baseball during his time with the team, earning 14 All-Star nods and leading it to five World Series titles. He was known as "The Captain" and was a popular figure within the city off the field as well.

He was in the spotlight when he was a minority owner of the Miami Marlins after he retired, as well as when he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2020 after receiving a staggering 99.7 percent of the vote.

His life has been less in the public eye since he sold his stake in the Marlins in 2022, but the party gave fans a chance to see the former superstar on a very happy occasion.
