Video: MLB Legend Barry Bonds Tells Derek Jeter He Would Hit HR Off Satchel Paige
Barry Bonds is confident he would fare well against a legendary former pitcher.
On Thursday, Bonds told fellow MLB legend Derek Jeter that he would hit a home run off Satchel Paige if the two had ever squared up against each other.
"Me? Gone," Bonds said when Jeter asked what he would do against Paige. "You lost your mind, Jeter. Gone. Simple, gone. Read about it on ESPN, Fox News, wherever else. You got to believe in yourself. If I don't believe in me, who's going to believe in me?"

Obviously, fans will never know how Bonds would actually do against Paige, but the all-time home run leader believes he'd handle the at-bat easily.
Bonds was a prolific hitter during his career, collecting 762 home runs, 1,996 RBI and a .298 batting average over the course of 21 seasons. But Paige likely could have given Bonds some trouble as the Hall of Famer had 1,501 strikeouts and a 2.73 career ERA during his time on the mound.
Fans can imagine the matchup as much as they want, but it's hard to say who would win the at-bat given the vastly different eras the two stars played in.
Though Jeter was the one who asked the question, he never gave his answer about how he would do against Paige. Perhaps the next time Bonds and Jeter are on the air together, Jeter can tell fans what he would do.
