Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto Suffers Triceps Injury, Exits Early in Start vs. Royals

The Los Angeles Dodgers did not get a long outing from Yoshinobu Yamamoto Saturday night.

The team announced that the starter had departed from its game against the Kansas City Royals due to "triceps tightness."

Yamamoto finishes with a line of 2.0 IP, one hit, one walk and one strikeout.

Yamamoto has hit the ground running since signing with the Dodgers ahead of the 2024 season. He is currently 6-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 72 innings pitched. That has him third on the team in innings pitched, tied for second in wins and leading the Dodgers in ERA.

His velocity was reportedly down in his outing on Saturday, despite his strong performance prior to his exit. He was originally supposed to start in the Dodgers Thursday game against the Texas Rangers, but that was pushed back for extra rest.

The Dodgers are currently 43-28 and sit in first place in the NL West. If Yamamoto were to hit the injured list, he would be unavailable for a minimum of 15 days and would likely miss multiple starts.
