Top Clash at the Castle Matches to Watch
Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
After having his moment ruined by CM Punk and Damian Priest at WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre will finally get his chance at revenge this weekend at Clash at the Castle.
McIntyre beat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania to become the new world heavyweight champion, but his decision to haunt Punk came back to haunt him, as Punk attacked him.
That allowed Priest to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre and become world champion for the first time, and it left The Scottish Warriors searching for answers.
In addition to potentially getting back at Priest, McIntyre can perhaps atone for what happened to him at the first Clash at the Castle two years ago.
McIntyre faced Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at that event in Wales, and just when it seemed he had Reigns beat, Solo Sikoa interfered and cost him.
This time, Clash at the Castle is being held in McIntyre's home country, and he figures to have enormous crowd support, which will make for a magnificent atmosphere.
Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles
Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles met for the first time at Backlash, and it was an absolute classic that saw Rhodes come out on top to retain the WWE Championship.
Styles asked SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis for another title shot in the weeks that followed, but when Aldis refused, it appeared as though Styles was going to retire.
However, it was all a ruse, as The Phenomenal One attacked Cody instead, setting the stage for a rematch at Clash at the Castle.
The American Nightmare raised the stakes even more by making it an "I Quit" match, meaning the only way to win is by making the other Superstar submit.
It is difficult to envision Rhodes giving up based in his babyface character, but the match against Styles promises to be a great one regardless and after they showcased their chemistry at Backlash.
Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable
While all five matches on the Clash at the Castle card have a chance to be excellent, it will likely be hard to beat the Intercontinental Championship bout between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable for match of the night honors.
Zayn and Gable are two of the best in-ring performers in the business, plus it can be argued that their storyline has been the best in wrestling over the past couple of months.
After helping coach Zayn up en route to his IC title win over Gunther at WrestleMania, Gable turned heel on Zayn and has since become abusive toward his Alpha Academy stablemates as well.
Otis has remained loyal to Gable despite his actions and has helped him in his matches, which could play a factor in Gable potentially beating Zayn for the first singles title of his WWE career.
However, if Otis finally turns his back on Gable, it may be exactly what Zayn needs in order to retain.
Regardless of the result, Zayn and Gable have worked well together in the past, and they should put on another classic in Scotland.
