Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter is launching a convincing campaign for the 2024 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Award.

Carter combined with Sky rookie Angel Reese for 41 points in a 79-71 Thursday night road win over Aaliyah Edwards and the Washington Mystics.

Reese led Sky starters with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals:

The outing marked Reese's third double-double of the season, and her second in as many games.

Carter meanwhile led the team with 25 points as she shot 10-for-17 off the bench.

Carter's performance led some fans to call her an early front-runner as the WNBA's best reserve.

Edwards, whom Washington selected with the No. 6 pick of the stacked 2024 draft, led the Mystics with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Edwards finished out the loss having gone 10-for-12 from the field.

The Mystics fall to a franchise-record 0-10 with the loss.

Washington will fight for its first win of the season tomorrow during another home game against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

The Sky meanwhile improve to 4-5 with the victory. Reese and Carter will look to help Chicago hit .500 with a win at home Saturday against the Atlanta Dream.
